Teamwork pays off as Marden Edwards FC win MA Hart In-Excess Cup Final
Post date:Mon, Jun 5, 2017
Though they may have set out as the underdogs against Poole Borough UAB in the MA Hart In-Excess Cup Final in April, Marden Edwards FC head to the field in Hurn Bridge with determination and a steadfast desire to make it to the top.... and that’s exactly what they achieve!
With Poole Borough winning all but two of the Bournemouth Hayward Sunday League Division 2 games this season it’s going to be a tall order for the Marden Edwards team to pull off a triumph, especially since the last time the two met back in November, Borough won 5 goals to 1!
The story is very different this time around with Marden Edwards in control of the match for the majority of the first half, and with goals from Fraser Read, Kyle Graham and Dan Molyneaux, the boys in blue are ahead 3-0 by half time.
Poole Borough UAB Fight Back
The second half of the match sees Poole Borough UAB fight back, with Lee Green scoring early on to bring the score to 3-1. However, with some great work from Marden Edwards’ goalkeeper, Christian Kent, Poole are denied the chance to move ahead and at the final whistle it is the Marden Edwards team who celebrate BHFL In-Excess Cup Final victory!
Well done to the entire Marden Edwards FC team who include (in alphabetical order):
Niall Bolger-Wood, Vic Cornhill, Ryan Daly, Kyle Graham, Chris Kent, Alex Mackenzie, Ian Male, Karl Milton, Lee Milton, Dan Molyneaux, Mo Rawas, Fraser Read, Leon Scott, Jon Shaw, Dan Siney, and Josh Webb.
And special thanks to everyone who supports the Marden Edwards FC team on a regular basis.
