The packaging industry is forever growing in Eastern Europe. This was ever more prevalent at the recent packaging based trade show UPAKOVKA which took place from 10th – 12th September 2013 in Ukraine. Ideally located, this show attracted many visitors and exhibitors from as far east as China to as far west as the UK. Nearly 15,000 visitors and 200 exhibitors were present in 2012 and early indications show that 2013 will be even more. UPAKOVKA’s main focus is about providing packaging solutions for food and drink sector by bringing together business from all aspects of the production line from primary to end of line packaging.

End of line packaging solutions
‘End of line’ is a term used which describes either pallet wrapping, for distribution purposes, or cellophane overwrapping of a carton, for shelf ready presentation. One company who provide end of line overwrapping solutions and were present at UPAKOVKA 2013 was Marden Edwards Ltd.
A world leader in the design and manufacturing of wrapping and packaging machinery equipment, Marden Edwards Ltd used UPAKOVKA as an opportunity to demonstrate their latest Evo series overwrapper, presenting overwrapped tea cartons at speeds of up to 45 wraps per minute. Marden Edwards serve a range of industries, including food and beverage and have been doing so since 1961.
The Marden Edwards EVO overwrapper was demonstrated on ECI packaging Ltd stand, who are agents to Marden Edwards Ltd. ECI packaging Ltd is the leading supplier of packaging and processing equipment for food, chemical, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries.
